Logitec releases its own WiFi Skype phone
09-05-2006
Logitec's getting into the WiFi Skype game and releasing their own me-too WiFi Skype phone. Again, this Logitec is the Logitec of Japan, not the Logitech (with an H) of the US. Fortunately for WiFi Skype phone collectors like me, this is just an OEM of the Belkin Skype phone, but in white, like SMC's OEM version.
The WiFi Skype phone will be available in Japan and uses either 802.11b or g to place its calls. The WiFi Skype phone also supposedly has Bluetooth so you can hook this up as a handset for your computer, but we're not sure how useful that feature will be. Read up on our thoughts on this model of Skype WiFi phone here. – Jason Chen<

iPod dock i1055 from iLuv- another Sonic Impact K1
06-15-2006
Is it an interesting thing to make an iPod dock with a 7-inch screen? Here is this i1055 Video System from iLuv for the iPod users. We have just seen the first of these devices the Sonic Impact K1 several days ago, and it is still in the works. The big-sized Sonic Impact K1 didn't get room for a DVD drive, while this i1055 says to have such thing. From the showed picture the iPod is placed at the back of this device, which doesn't seem quite applied. If all these became true, with $250 you can get a device features 7-inch widescreen, S-Video out, built-in rechargeable battery, dual audio outputs and can charge your iPod while you plug the unit into its own AC adapter. Now the only thing we can do is to wait and see what will be the outcome.

Cell phone and media hub will come from Apple
05-11-2006
Walt Mossberg revealed that Apple dedicates itself to produce a cell phone and a home-media hub in an article of the Wall Street Journal, which is mainly about the different methods adopted by Apple and Microsoft in their products. "In the post-PC era we're in today, where the focus is on things like music players, game consoles and cell phones, the end-to-end model is the early winner," states Mossberg. "Tightly linking hardware, software and Web services propelled Apple to a huge success with its iPod. Microsoft, meanwhile, has struggled to make its component model work on these devices and, in a telling sign, is using the Apple end-to-end model itself in its Xbox game-console business. Now, Apple is working on other projects built on the same end-to-end model as the iPod: a media-playing cell phone and a home-media hub."
Sony provides support format to Apple

One report on Sony's announcement claims that "Sony's latest strategy is taken as an open acknowledgment that it can no longer ignore iPod's dominant lead."

Sony Announced PSP System Update to 2.70
04-25-2006
Sony released the 2.70 System Update for the PSP today, so if you're still using the old edition, hurry up to update for your PSP through PSP Browser over WIFI or from PSP System Update 2.70 . The updated 2.70 edition includes below four features.
1. They never use the word “podcast” in the documents, but yeah, the PSP plays nicely with them now through the RSS feature. You can choose to either stream or play new audio content on sites you’ve subscribed to, or save them onto a Memory Stick.
2. Better file compatibility with popular music file formats, including MP3, ATRAC, AAC and WMA, meaning Sony uncrippled the PSP in less time than they semi-uncrippled the MiniDisc. Good job! Now stop trying to force us to use proprietary formats already, we don’t like it and you will eventually bend anyway, so why not just give us what we want from the start?
3. The PSP is now a receiver for Sony’s LocationFree TV, which they tout as “A completely new way of seeing TV. Instead of going to the television set, the TV comes to you (via your home TV tuner) wherever you are. You can watch live TV, play back recorded programmes and even set up future recordings, all from your PSP.” LocationFree launches in May but only in Europe, even though it’s been out in Japan and in the US for a while now.
4. Macromedia Flash 6 support for the PSP browser.
