  • Q1: Besides DVD disc, can I load image file(ISO) and DVD Folder into the program? And how can I do that?

    A: Beside the button "Open DVD", you can find certain sub-items. You can get the ISO file or DVD Folder loaded by the items offered there, Open DVD Folder and Open ISO File. Or you can find those things in the File menu, too.
  • Q2: How can I get the chapters of my DVD displayed in the list after loading DVD?

    A: In the "Edit" menu, there is an item called "Show Chapters". All the chapters on your DVD, under each title, will be displayed in the program list after you click it.
  • Q3: Where are the other settings like Frame Rate and Sample Rate appeared on the right of the main interface in the previous versions?

    A: On the top right, beside the words "Profile Settings", there is a button called "Show Advanced Settings". An extended panel will show other settings after you click it. You can set the audio Bit Rate and Sample Rate, as well as other items there.
  • Q4: Can I edit the ID3 Tag information items for the output files?

    A: If you select WMA and MP3 as output format, you can edit the Tag information for the conversion job. All the items of Tag information are also in the Advanced Settings.
  • Q5: How can I modify the settings on the right panel of the interface for my conversion job?

    A: Before you modify anything, you must highlight the item of your DVD, chapter or title which you want to rip in the program. Besides the values we have offered, you can simply enter a number you want for the conversion for most output formats, such as audio bit rate, sample rate. But sometimes, it would be limited by the output format as well as some other conditions.
  • Q6: How can I select the wanted audio track to output?

    A: In the "Audio" box, all the audio tracks can be found. Please select the one you want before you start ripping. It is on the top of the loading list.
  • Q7: Can I save the profile with the modified settings as a new one for further use?

    A: It can be done by the "Save As" button. After you finish the modifications, please click this button and finish other jobs following instructions. After the profile is created, you can delete or re-name it as you like.
  • Q8: Is it possible to get a clip/segment of my DVD converted?

    A: Yes. You need set "Start Time" and "Duration" to get the clip you want. It is on the Advanced Setting panel. First of all, you should highlight the tile of your DVD, which includes the main episodes of the movie. And then enter correct values for "Start Time" and "Duration", which can be found on the right. Panel of the interface For example, if you want a 3-minute-clip from the 10 minutes of the whole movie, please enter "00:00:00" for "Start Time" and "00:03:00" for duration.
  • Q9: How to raise/lower the output file's volume after my DVD is ripped?

    A: Please open "Tools-Preference", in the "DVD (Global)" card, you will find the option for "Volume". The default value is 3. You can enter a smaller or larger number for it. If you can not be sure what a proper number is, our software can help you detect it. Please click the "Normalize" button on its right. Our software will then begin to test the volume value of your DVD. The longer you wait the more accurate number you will get. During the detecting process, you can get the number that our software gets saved automatically by clicking "Save and Close".
  • Q10: How to get my output files directly in the output folder I set?

    A: If you do not like it, please open "Settings-Preference". In the "General" card, please cancel the options for "Create chapter folder in the output folder" and "Create album folder in the output folder". After that, you will be able to find the output files directly in the output folder.
  • Q11: How to avoid the short breaks during the output audio playback?

    A: Maybe you have set a smaller value for audio bit rate, which is also on the Advanced Setting panel. Please try a larger one for it. Generally speaking, the default value we offered can assure a good result. And also, is it possible to select another audio track for the conversion job?
  • Q12: How to rip my DVD into one file?

    A: After your DVD is loaded into the program, please highlight the title of your DVD which contains the main episodes of the movie and then run "File-Rip Selected" to get it ripped. If you did not change "Split" option whose "Infinite" is the default option, you should be able to get one single file for the entire DVD. If the main episodes of your DVD are separated into several titles, you need merge them first by the "Merge"; function we offered. In the Q15 below, we will have mentioned it.
  • Q13: Is it possible to use the title I want for the output files directly?

    A: On the right, there is a box called "Name". What you entered in that box before the conversion will be the title for the output files.
  • Q14: What does "Add Profiles" do?

    A: It is a new function added in the Version 5. If you want to get the same source, title or chapter, converted into different target things, with different formats or different configurations, this function will help you. It will be active after you highlight the loading title or chapter, which you want to convert. After clicking it, the title or chapter that you chose will be duplicated so that you can set different settings for each of them.
  • Q15: Is it possible that I get more than 1 chapter converted and only get 1 output files?

    A: Yes, by the "Merge"; function we offered, you can do that. But you need highlight all the chapters in the program list first. You can do this job by pressing the "CTRL"; key or "Shift"; key simultaneously. And then the "Merge"; button will be active. After you click it, a merged item will be shown in the list, which includes all the chapters that you have selected.
  • Q16: If I want to crop certain part of the frame, what should I do?

    A: The edit function offered in our program will help you with it. First of all, you must highlight the title that you want to crop. And then please click the "Effects"; button under the program list. In the following dialog-box, you can decide the crop area by entering the definite values or by dragging the controlling points around the preview screen. Besides the crop function, you can modify other things, such as Contrast, Brightness as well as other effects on frame and subtitles; or adding watermarks there.
  • Q17: May I get rid of the unwanted DVD frames in the output files by your program?

    A: Of course you can. We offered a "Clip" function in our program. You can clip the title of your DVD with it. You also must highlight the title that you want to clip firstly. In the "Clip" dialog-box, during the playback of the title, you can set the Clip Start point and the Clip End Point, as well as the segment you want to clip. If you want to get an integral output with all the clip segments, you can get it by checking on the option "Output Segment as whole file".
  • Q18: How can I know the most proper values for video and audio bit rate within the output size I expected?

    A: We have a small tool in the "Tools" menu, Bit Rate Calculator. Once again, you must highlight the title or chapter that you want to convert first. What you decide there will be the settings for the items on the right automatically after you confirm them.
  • Q19: Which output format is the best to get the smaller size with better quality if I want to backup my DVD on my PC?

    A: Generally speaking, we recommend AVI output by our program. The default codec for AVI in our program is DivX, which can provide better quality as well as smaller output size. If you just want to backup your DVD on your hard drive, you'd better select AVI.
  • Q20: Windows Media Player only plays audio when I playback the output AVI file and shows I need to download certain codec. Why?

    A: The default codec for AVI output in our program is DivX. If you do not have this codec installed on your PC, you will not be able to play the file. Please download DivX codec from www.divx.com for free. After the installation, Windows Media Player will be able to play AVI files produced by our program.
  • Q21: What can I do to transfer the output iPod/iPhone/Apple TV files into my iPod?

    A: Do you have iTunes installed? It is a must. Please download it from www.apple.com. The transferring job must be done by this tool. If you are using iPod or iPhone, we have a specific program, too. It is called Xilisoft iPod Rip and you can get to know it from http://www.xilisoft.com/ipod-rip.html
  • Q22: How can I get MP3 files transferred to PSP?

    A: Please just copy MP3 files into the "MUSIC" folder, one of the sub-folders under "PSP" folder. For example, if the removable drive number for your PSP is "F", please copy them into "F:PSPMUSIC". If you can not find it, please create such a path yourself.
  • Q23: Can I make certain settings to improve the image quality of the output 3GP file?

    A: The default settings which we offered for 3GP output are what are requested by most of mobile phones. If you want to get better quality, please select "mpeg4" as video codec instead of "h.263", as well as setting a larger number for video bit rate and video size. They will produce a file with better quality but you must be sure that those settings can be supported by your phone.
  • Q24: The output 3GP files are playable in QuickTime but the video and audio get out of sync after playback on my phone. Why?

    A: Maybe your phone requires different settings with what we offered, which can work for most of phones.   • Q25: Why does my PPC stop and close the player suddenly when playing the output WMV file?

    A: Maybe your PPC can not support the video size which you used in the conversion job. It might be too large to be afforded by PPC. Please low it down. Actually, we have offered several options for certain models of PPC in the "Profile" list. If you use those options, the output files will be played well.
  • Q26: What do I need to do to get better audio quality in the output 3GP files?

    A: The default audio codec for 3GP output is "Amr_nb", which can not support higher value for bit rate and sample rate. So you need select "mpeg4aac" as audio codec first in the list so that you can modify other audio settings.
  • Q27: Which profile is the best one for my 5.5G iPod?

    A: The most important feature for 5.5G iPod is that it can support 640x480 resolutions. So you'd better select the profiles, named with "iPod Video2", whole default settings are in 640x480 and which will provide better output quality than other profiles.
  • Q28: Which one is better in the two kinds of MP4 video forms if I want to get better quality?

    A: As far as the output quality is concerned, H.264/AVC would provide the best. But it is larger in output size and slower in the conversion speed. But if you only want to get the better quality, you need choose H.264/AVC profile.
  • Q29: Which profile should I choose for my PSP?

    A: It depends on the models and the versions of its firmware. Only higher versions can support H.264/AVC output and 480x272 output files. If you are using the early versions and models, you'd better only use "PSP MPEG-4 Video" profile.
  • Q30: How can I get output Zune videos transferred to my Zune?

    A: You need download Zune Software from www.zune.net to finish the transferring job. Or you can get it done via the SYNC function of Windows Media Player if you select WMV as output format.
  • Q31: How to choose the output video formats from MP4, H.264/MPEG-4 AVC and WMV?

    A: If you only want to get the best quality, I recommend H.264/MPEG-4 AVC output for you, which is in H.264/AVC video codec. But the output size would be larger than others. Actually, MP4 format will be more proper between the file size and quality.
