Change means chance, and some changes will happen to PSP fans in the near future. The PSP-3000 will be released on October 14, 2008 in North America. It is the third installment of the PlayStation Portable series, following the PlayStation Portable and the PlayStation Portable Slim and Lite.

For many PSP fans, no jaw dropping changes will happen, but I noticed the stunning improvement of picture quality. Check out this picture.

It’s really impressive. In fact, in comparison to the PSP-2000, the PSP-3000 has an improved LCD screen with an increased color range, five times the contrast ratio, half the pixel response time to reduce ghosting and blurring effects, and antireflective technology to improve outdoor playability.

Something still needs to be clarified. Rumors go around saying that the battery life of the PSP 3000 is shorter than that of PSP 2000, but according to John Koller, hardware marketing director of PlayStation, this isn’t true. With the new PSP you can game about four to six hours and watch movies for about four to five hours.
Good enough, at least for me. Now the only idea in my mind is to put my favorite videos or even DVD to the PSP 3000.
